A BRIEF HISTORY OF CASTROJERIZ
The
population of Castrojeriz is an ancient iberian settlement whose
population evolved from romans to visigoths, arabs, berbers, being re-populated
during medieval times by people from the northern regions. It subsequently
became populated by stockbreeders, land farmers, craftsmen, potters and
merchants of christian, mozarab, mudejar and jewish origin. The village is
now part of the Jacobean route, on the Way of Saint James
